Sometimes the best creations come from happy accid

Sometimes the best creations come from happy accidents! Our Blueberry Body Balm wasn’t part of the original plan, but we’re so glad it became a seasonal favorite. It all started when blueberry fragrance was accidentally added to a batch of lip balm instead of the flavor. Rather than scrapping it, we crafted this hydrating balm that smells like a fresh burst of summer. 🫐

And guess what? You all loved it so much, we’ve officially SOLD OUT! But don’t worry—we’re thinking about bringing it back for the holidays. Keep an eye out for restock updates, and let us know if you’re excited for its return!

Meet The Dream Team ✨

At Denali Dreams, I’ve been lucky enough to work alongside some truly amazing people—folks who not only made this business thrive but who continue to bring joy to every bar of soap we create. They’ve taught me so much, and even after all these years, we stay in touch. Honestly, a company’s biggest asset is its team, and ours is pure gold. So, let’s meet the fabulous crew that makes the dream work!

Ben – Our Soap Master. For 9 years, Ben has been perfecting his craft in the soap kitchen, pouring his heart (and probably a few bubbles) into every creation. Honest to the core, he’s a gamer at heart and will never say no to a good meatloaf.

Samantha – Samantha – The Smile Behind the Soaps. She started out cutting bars, but now she’s a pro at shipping and helping customers sniff out their perfect scent. Samantha keeps everything running smoothly like magic! When she’s not at work, she’s gaming and absolutely putting the boys to shame. With a green thumb, she can make anything bloom!

Hajireh – The Soap Sculptor. After moving from Afghanistan, Hajireh mastered the art of cutting, grooming, and stamping our soaps. A culinary whiz and a fantastic seamstress, there isn't anything she can't learn!

Luda – The Wrapper with Rhythm. With open arms and a big smile, Luda joined us from Ukraine. She loves wrapping soaps to the sound of Frank Sinatra or classical tunes, bringing joy (and rhythm) to every package.

Sania – The Shelf Whisperer. She makes sure our soaps stay stocked and ready for you. After her first Alaskan winter, all the way from the Federated States of Micronesia, Sania now enjoys watching the fishermen at Ship Creek and watching sunsets over Sleeping Lady.

Sean – Our Newest Soap Sidekick. Sean’s the go-to guy for bath bombs and helping Ben in the soap kitchen when things get wild. He loves the outdoors, fresh Alaskan air, and is finishing up his degree at UAA!

And finally—yes, you know this goofy gang! It’s me, Caitlin, the silly twins Arie and Jack, and my partner in all things broken (and fixed!), Chad.

We love calling Spenard home—it’s where creativity thrives and community is everything.

We have been in the Spenard area for 22 years and when we were looking for a new space one of our criteria was to stay in Spenard. We love the uniqueness of this area and the growth we have seen over these past 20 years.

Due to a family emergency we won't be open for @spenard2ndsaturday this Saturday but we love being part of this community and want to remind you all there are lots of fun events going on. Be sure to check out our stories to see the line up!

Cool cool cool is what I say at the end of this video. Not quite what I expected to walk into on Wednesday morning.

One of our water lines went in the middle of the night leaving us with inches of water in our production areas.

Silver linings:
✨We got to really scrub down the floors which was on the to-do list

✨Our contractors did a great job of sealing the floors so most of it stayed in two rooms.

✨Thankful for staff who come in early and give me a heads up that my day is about to take a left hand turn

✨No one was hurt, no products, materials or equipment were damaged

✨Lastly, the plumber was already scheduled to change a sprayer hose that day so he was able to check all of our plumbing!

The many hats you wear as a small business owner is actually one of the reasons I love being one. Sometimes, you never know what the day will bring, you might even learn a new skill or find a whole new bottom on your machine that sucks up lots of water! I'm thankful for the supportive staff and community that help mop us up when we get a little wet.
